14.14 lb. Lake Texoma striper

One of the trips I fished this past week was a party of 8. The weather was cold and basically miserable, however our hearty group of fishermen displayed the patience needed . We found a good looking place in 55 ft. water, anchored the boat and fished from 8:30-11:30am. The fishing party finished the time off catching a good looking limit of good sized Lake Texoma stripers.

The AmericanLegion Auxiliary at Post 231 on Lake Texoma will be holding their Annual Cancer Research Benefit Feb. 17th.  Monies raised are distributed to MD Anderson Cancer Research Hospital in Houston and as Love Gifts to help out members who are suffering from this disease.  Over the years several of Texoma’s Guides have been very generous donating trips and money to the benefit.  It was asked of us at The Lake Texoma Striper Fishing Blog if we would be willing to help.  Having had a family members who have passed away due to this disease we were more than willing to help.  To date we have also recieved help from  StriperMaster Guide Service who donated a trip which will be auctioned off at the benefit.  If you would like to make a donation to this very worthy cause it would be gratefully appreciated.  All donations are fully tax deductible.  For information on how you an help, email the Post at roos@texoma.net or call the Post at 903-786-2353.

This week’s fishing on Lake Texoma hasn’t changed much compared to last week.
Fishing is slow but the stripers being caught are good sized.
Patience and dressing warm is important.
